ALTERNATIVE SMALL DOLLAR LOAN SYMPOSIUM:
OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FOR
ILLINOIS’ FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

IABG co-sponsored a symposium on the need for alternative small dollar loans at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago on November 17th, 2009. The event was also co-sponsored by the Office of State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, FDIC-AEI, and the Woodstock Institute. Panelists and speakers included Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias and members of his staff, along with representatives from the Illinois Attorney General’s office,the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, FDIC, Woodstock Institute, North Side Community Federal Credit Union, Lake Forest Bank & Trust, Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights, and A Safe Place.
